finished lumber
Ready-to-use planks
Finished lumber is wood that has been processed beyond rough cutting—planed smooth, dried, and cut to standard dimensions.
It's ready for construction or woodworking without further preparation: The shelves were built from finished lumber.
The term distinguishes it from rough-sawn boards that still need surfacing.
Also called dressed lumber.
