fingerpainting
Hands-on preschool art
Fingerpainting is a technique of applying paint directly with the hands rather than brushes, typically done by young children as an early art activity.
The method emphasizes tactile experience over precision: The preschoolers spent the morning fingerpainting.
As a verb, to fingerpaint is to create art this way.
The results—often messy, colorful abstractions—are valued more for the process than the product.
