far sight

Seeing things afar

Far sight is the ability to see distant objects clearly while nearby objects appear blurry—the opposite of near sight.

Also called farsightedness or hyperopia.

The term extends figuratively to mean the ability to anticipate future events or consequences: Her far sight in investing paid off decades later.

Usually written as two words or hyphenated (far-sight), though farsight appears in fantasy contexts as a magical ability to perceive distant or hidden things.
