fan voting
Supporters cast ballots
Fan voting is a system where audience members or supporters cast votes to influence outcomes—selecting award winners, determining contestants who advance in competitions, or choosing team rosters for all-star games.
The practice gives fans a sense of participation but draws criticism when popularity overwhelms merit: Fan voting ruined the All-Star Game.
