fan casting
Audience-proposed actor picks
Fan casting is the practice of imagining or proposing which actors should play characters in a hypothetical or upcoming film, television, or stage adaptation.
Fans discuss who would be perfect for roles in adaptations of books, comics, or video games, or suggest replacements for existing characters: My fan cast for the next James Bond is Idris Elba.
The activity thrives on social media, where users share elaborate casting proposals with photo edits.
