extra dimensions

Spacetime's hidden extensions

Extra dimensions are spatial dimensions beyond the three we perceive—length, width, and height.

In physics, especially string theory, extra dimensions are proposed to explain phenomena that don't fit standard models.

These dimensions might be curled up so small we can't detect them, or they might extend infinitely in directions we can't access.

The concept also appears in science fiction, where extra dimensions enable travel, hidden realms, or alternate realities.
