extended mixes
Stretched club edits
Extended mixes are longer versions of songs, typically created for dance clubs or radio play.
DJs and producers stretch tracks by adding instrumental breaks, extended intros and outros, or additional loops, allowing smoother transitions between songs: The extended mix runs nearly eight minutes.
The term emerged from disco and electronic dance music culture, where longer versions keep dancers on the floor.
