explicit bias
Aware discriminatory attitude
Explicit bias is conscious prejudice or favoritism that a person is aware of and may openly express.
Unlike implicit bias, which operates below awareness, explicit bias involves deliberate attitudes toward groups based on race, gender, religion, or other characteristics: The hiring manager's explicit bias against older workers was evident in his comments.
The term appears frequently in discussions of discrimination and diversity training.
