excrement
What toilets receive
Excrement is solid waste discharged from the body—feces.
The word is more clinical than *shit* but less technical than *fecal matter*, making it useful in contexts requiring neither vulgarity nor medical precision: The sidewalk was covered in dog excrement.
It occasionally extends to any waste or refuse.
