election denial

Refusing certified results

Election denial is the refusal to accept the certified results of an election, particularly when claiming fraud or irregularities without sufficient evidence.

The term gained prominence after the 2020 U.S. presidential election, when supporters of Donald Trump rejected his loss: Election denial has become a litmus test in Republican primaries.

An election denier is someone who holds such beliefs.
