ecophobia
Fear of outdoors
Ecophobia is fear or hatred of the natural environment, or anxiety about ecological disaster.
Some use it to describe children who have become disconnected from nature, preferring indoor activities to outdoor exploration.
Others apply it to a paralyzed dread about climate change and environmental collapse: Ecophobia keeps her from reading the news.
The term also appears in discussions of anti-environmental attitudes.
