earthless
Lacking any terrain
Earthless means lacking earth or soil—barren, without ground to stand on.
The word appears in poetry and science fiction to describe places devoid of the familiar terrain we know: an earthless void, earthless asteroids drifting through space.
It can also suggest being cut off from home or rootedness: earthless wanderers among the stars.
