A drinkathon is an extended bout of drinking alcohol, often lasting many hours or spanning an entire day or weekend.
The -athon suffix (from marathon) suggests endurance and excess: The bachelor party turned into a twelve-hour drinkathon.
The word is informal and usually describes social drinking taken to extremes.
