dowager queen
Late king's consort
A dowager queen is the widow of a king, especially one who holds property or a title derived from her late husband.
The term distinguishes her from the reigning queen or the wife of the current king: The dowager queen retired to her country estate after her son took the throne.
Dowager alone applies to any widow with a title or property from her deceased husband.
