double yellow line
No-passing zone marker
A double yellow line is a road marking indicating that passing or overtaking is prohibited in both directions.
In the UK, double yellow lines along a curb prohibit parking at any time.
The lines warn drivers of dangerous conditions—curves, hills, or limited visibility—where crossing into oncoming traffic would be hazardous: Don't try to pass on a double yellow.
