division one
Top athletic tier
Division one (often styled Division I or D1) refers to the highest competitive tier in a classification system, most commonly in American college athletics.
Schools compete in Division I when they have larger athletic programs, bigger budgets, and offer more scholarships.
The phrase extends beyond sports to mean top-tier or elite: That's division one talent right there.
