digital version
File, not physical
A digital version is a copy of something that exists as electronic data rather than physical form.
Books, movies, albums, and documents all have digital versions—files that can be stored, copied, and accessed on computers and devices: I bought the digital version so I could read it on my phone.
The term often implies an alternative to a physical original.
