den mother

Cub Scout guide

A den mother is an adult woman who supervises a den of Cub Scouts, organizing activities and guiding young boys through the program.

By extension, den mother describes any woman who takes a nurturing, organizing role for a group—especially one composed mostly of men or boys: She became the den mother for the whole sales team.
