demotivators
Things sapping enthusiasm
Demotivators are parody motivational posters that mock the inspirational workplace art genre.
Where motivational posters pair scenic images with uplifting slogans, demotivators use sardonic captions to subvert expectations: a sinking ship captioned "MISTAKES: It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others." The format spread widely online as a template for dark humor.
