deicing fluid
Airplane frost remover
Deicing fluid is a liquid applied to aircraft, roads, or other surfaces to remove or prevent ice buildup.
Airport ground crews spray it on planes before takeoff in winter conditions: The flight was delayed while they applied deicing fluid to the wings.
Different formulations exist for different temperatures and purposes—some remove existing ice, others prevent new ice from forming.
