declutched
Let the pedal up
Declutched is the past tense of declutch, meaning to disengage the clutch in a vehicle with manual transmission.
When you declutch, you press the clutch pedal to disconnect the engine from the wheels, allowing gear changes or coasting: He declutched and let the car roll to a stop.
The term appears mainly in British English; Americans more often say "pushed in the clutch."
