A crewed mission is a spaceflight or expedition with people aboard, as opposed to robotic or unmanned operations.
The term emerged as a gender-neutral alternative to "manned mission": NASA's crewed missions to the International Space Station, the first crewed mission to Mars.
The crew operates the spacecraft, conducts experiments, or explores.
