Cream top describes milk that hasn't been homogenized, allowing the cream to rise and collect at the top of the container.
Before homogenization became standard, all milk was cream top—you'd shake the bottle to mix it or skim the cream for coffee.
The term now appears on specialty dairy products marketed as traditional or minimally processed: We get cream top milk from a local farm.
