crash log
Failure documentation file
A crash log is a file automatically generated when software fails unexpectedly, recording technical details about what the program was doing at the moment it crashed.
Developers use crash logs to diagnose and fix bugs: The support team asked me to send the crash log so they could investigate.
Also called a crash report or crash dump.
