country park

A country park is a protected area of countryside set aside for public recreation, typically featuring walking trails, open spaces, and natural habitats.

Common in Britain, these parks are usually managed by local authorities and sit between urban parks and national parks in scale: We took the kids to the country park for a picnic.

They offer accessible green space without the wilderness remoteness of larger preserves.
