control chart
Variation tracking graph
A control chart is a graph used in quality control to track whether a process stays within acceptable limits over time.
Data points are plotted against upper and lower control limits; points outside these bounds signal that something has gone wrong and needs investigation.
The control chart showed the manufacturing process had drifted out of specification.
