control arm
Wheel positioning lever
A control arm is a hinged suspension component that connects a vehicle's wheel hub to its frame, allowing the wheel to move up and down while maintaining proper alignment.
Most cars have upper and lower control arms on each wheel.
The term also appears in clinical trials, where the control arm is the group receiving standard treatment or placebo against which the experimental treatment is measured.
