connection timeout
Server stopped waiting
A connection timeout occurs when a device or program waits too long for a response from another system and gives up.
The timeout prevents indefinite waiting—if a server doesn't respond within the allotted seconds, the connection attempt fails: The page wouldn't load due to a connection timeout.
Common causes include network congestion, server overload, or firewall blocking.
