conference play
Divisional competition schedule
Conference play refers to games or competition within an athletic conference—a group of teams organized together, usually by geography or division level.
In college sports especially, the season divides into non-conference games (against outside opponents) and conference play (against fellow members): Conference play begins in January.
Conference records determine standings and tournament seeding.
