computer processor
Chip executing instructions
A computer processor is the central chip that executes instructions and performs calculations—the brain of a computer.
Also called CPU (central processing unit).
Processor speed, measured in gigahertz, indicates how many operations it can perform per second: My old laptop's processor can't handle video editing.
Modern devices may have multiple processors or processor cores working in parallel.
