commissure
Where parts meet
A commissure is a line or point where two things join or come together.
In anatomy, it refers specifically to a band of nerve fibers connecting corresponding parts on opposite sides of the brain or spinal cord: the anterior commissure, the corpus callosum is the brain's largest commissure.
The term also applies to the corners where the upper and lower lips meet, or where eyelids join.
