comedowns
Falls from grace
Comedowns are declines or letdowns from elevated states.
After drug-induced highs, the comedown brings fatigue, depression, or irritability as the body readjusts: The comedown from ecstasy lasted two days.
More broadly, any deflating return to ordinary reality after excitement or success: Returning to work after the trip was a real comedown.
