Danger zone compensation
Combat pay is additional compensation given to military personnel serving in designated war zones or areas of armed conflict.
The extra pay acknowledges the danger, stress, and hardship of deployment to hostile regions: He saved most of his combat pay during his tour in Afghanistan.
Also called hazardous duty pay or imminent danger pay.
