comas
Deep unresponsive states
Comas is the plural of coma, a state of deep unconsciousness from which a person cannot be awakened.
Comas result from severe injury, illness, or drug overdose: Patients in comas may still hear voices around them.
Separately, coma names the hazy envelope surrounding a comet's nucleus, or an optical aberration causing blurred images—both pluralize the same way.
