color photo
Not black-and-white
A color photo is a photograph that reproduces the colors of the original scene, as opposed to black-and-white photography.
The term became necessary only after color film became widely available in the mid-20th century: The old family album has a few color photos mixed in with the black-and-white ones.
Now that color is standard, the phrase appears mainly when distinguishing from monochrome images.
