clearance racks
Sale merchandise displays
Clearance racks are store fixtures displaying merchandise marked down for quick sale, typically items that are discontinued, out of season, or overstocked.
The term evokes bargain hunting—shoppers rifle through clearance racks hoping to find deals others missed: I found this dress on the clearance rack for twelve dollars.
