Non-transgender male person
A cis man is a man whose gender identity matches the male sex assigned at birth—the prefix *cis* (Latin for "on the same side") contrasting with *trans*.
The term emerged from gender studies and LGBTQ+ discourse as a neutral descriptor rather than treating non-transgender as the unmarked default: Most cis men don't think much about their gender identity.
