A circus tent is the large, portable canvas structure that houses circus performances.
Also called a big top, it features a distinctive peaked roof supported by tall center poles, with colorful stripes traditionally decorating the exterior.
The circus tent went up overnight in the fairground.
The term evokes the traveling spectacle of traditional circuses.
