church-door
Sanctuary's main threshold
A church-door is simply the door of a church, typically the main entrance through which congregants pass for services.
The term appears most famously in the phrase as plain as a church-door, meaning utterly obvious or unmistakable, and in historical references to posting public notices on church doors, as Martin Luther did with his Ninety-Five Theses.
The wedding guests gathered at the church-door to throw rice.
