chuffing
Engine exhaust sounds
Chuffing is the rhythmic puffing sound a steam engine makes, or the similar sound animals make—tigers chuff as a friendly greeting.
In British slang, chuffing is a mild intensifier, a euphemism for fucking: I can't find my chuffing keys.
It adds emphasis without strong vulgarity.
