chimney brush
Soot removal tool
A chimney brush is a stiff-bristled brush designed to scrape soot and creosote from the interior walls of a chimney flue.
The brush head, typically round or square to match the flue shape, attaches to flexible rods that allow it to be pushed or pulled through the full length of the chimney.
The chimney sweep worked the brush up and down until black debris rained into the fireplace.
