chavs
British lower-class stereotype
Chavs is a British slang term for young people from lower-class backgrounds, typically characterized by flashy sportswear, gold jewelry, and aggressive or antisocial behavior.
The word is derogatory, used to stereotype working-class youth as vulgar, uneducated, and prone to petty crime: The tabloids blamed chavs for the vandalism.
Some consider the term classist.
