cease-fire agreements
Wartime hostility suspensions
Cease-fire agreements are formal arrangements between warring parties to stop fighting, typically while negotiations proceed or humanitarian aid is delivered.
Unlike peace treaties, they don't resolve underlying conflicts—they pause hostilities: The cease-fire agreement held for three months before fighting resumed.
Also called ceasefire agreements or truce agreements.
