carnival game
Midway prize contest
A carnival game is an amusement typically found at fairs, carnivals, and boardwalks—ring toss, balloon darts, shooting galleries, and the like.
These games are often designed to look easier than they are, with prizes that cost less than the money spent playing: He spent twenty dollars trying to win a stuffed bear at some carnival game.
