fair game
Open to criticism
Fair game is a legitimate target for criticism, mockery, or pursuit.
The phrase comes from hunting—game that may lawfully be hunted—but now applies broadly to anything considered acceptable to attack or exploit: Once you enter politics, your past becomes fair game.
If someone or something is fair game, going after them isn't considered unfair or off-limits.
