endless runner
Perpetual motion game
An endless runner is a video game genre where the player character moves forward automatically and continuously, with the player's only task being to avoid obstacles and collect items for as long as possible.
There's no finish line—the game continues until you fail: I killed twenty minutes on an endless runner while waiting at the DMV.
Temple Run and Subway Surfers are classic examples.
