carebear
Tummy-symbol stuffed toy
Carebear is internet and gaming slang for someone perceived as overly friendly, conflict-averse, or soft.
The term derives from the 1980s cartoon characters known for spreading kindness.
In online games, a carebear avoids player-versus-player combat, preferring cooperative or non-competitive play: The server's full of carebears who won't fight back.
More broadly, it disparages anyone seen as too sensitive or unwilling to engage in harsh environments.
