butterfly stitches
Adhesive wound closures
Butterfly stitches are small adhesive strips used to hold the edges of a wound together, narrower in the middle than at the ends—giving them a butterfly or bowtie shape.
They serve as an alternative to sutures for minor cuts: The nurse closed the gash with butterfly stitches.
Also called butterfly bandages or Steri-Strips.
