bump-and-run

Contact at scrimmage

Bump-and-run describes a technique in which brief contact sets up a quick departure.

In American football, it's a defensive coverage where a cornerback jams a receiver at the line of scrimmage before running with them downfield: He's excellent at bump-and-run coverage.

In golf, a bump-and-run is a low chip shot that lands short and rolls toward the hole.

In criminal contexts, it's a scheme where one car intentionally rear-ends another to set up a robbery or insurance fraud when the victim exits their vehicle.
