A bulk tank is a large refrigerated storage vessel used on dairy farms to cool and hold raw milk until collection.
The milk goes directly from the milking system into the bulk tank, where it's kept at low temperatures to prevent bacterial growth: The inspector checked the bulk tank temperature before the truck arrived.
